Turning the outcome of the act of reading into a fun oral activity may inspire every young reluctant reader to delve more into books. The springboard for this classroom activity were all the inspirational posters and games we unearthed on Pinterest, which we combined with the story books our young learners borrowed from the school library. Using special spinners, dice and charts, the students were able to narrate the stories they have read, identifying the main characters and events, the turning points and all the parts of a narrative. They also reproduced the basic storyline by depicting and describing pivotal scenes on posters or film strips, which we later decorated on our classroom walls. Great oral and creative games to end the act of reading with!
