POETRY DAYS IN OUR SCHOOL

Using the Poetry App for the iPad with various age groups.

Notes on "The Road Not Taken"

Younger learners got acquainted with poetry through the Dr Seuss' iPad apps,
which show the verse and the illustrations,
allowing the children to click on the images
and listen to the corresponding word.

Explaining the characteristics of Haiku poetry
to 11-year-old learners. Useful related article.

Resulting blog posts: Haiku poetry by C' ClassD' Class and the B2-level group.

Drafting our first poems.

Another form of poetry in everyday life: Jump rope rhymes!
This is our favourite one:

Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, turn around,

Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, touch the ground

Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, show your shoe

Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, that will do!

Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, go upstairs-

Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, say your prayers-

Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, turn out the lights-

Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, say good-night!

Loads of ideas about how to use poetry in the classroom.

Some B' Junior projects after reading Dr Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham on the iPad:
