Winner of the MEDEA Award for User-Generated Educational Media 2012: 'And the Oscar goes to ...' by Petros Michailidis of 5th Primary school of Alexandroupolis in Greece and Christelle Vouillot from Ecole Primaire de Rolampont in France.
In this interview Petros Michailidis talks about his e-Twinning project in which 8-12 year old pupils collaborated to tell a story through video, learning to express themselves in other ways beside the traditional written and oral communication. The Greek and French pupils created short videos on topics such as traditional food and customs, but also bullying and hooliganism, and were made aware of international collaboration.
The aim of the MEDEA Awards is to encourage innovation and good practice in the use of media (audio, video, graphics and animation) in education. The awards also recognise and promote excellence in the production and pedagogical design of media-rich learning resources.
