TWO INSPIRING VIDEOS

By watching and taking some time to contemplate on these two videos, advanced students will not only practice their listening skills, but they will also expand their vocabulary and enrich their ideas.

Drawing from some of the most pivotal points in his life, Steve Jobs, chief executive officer and co-founder of Apple Computer and of Pixar Animation Studios, urged graduates to pursue their dreams and see the opportunities in life's setbacks -- including death itself -- at the university's 114th Commencement on June 12, 2005. The transcript of his talk can be found here.

  1. It is a really nice blog, I like all the information you have for teachers, and i am already taking into account your ideas. Me , I like using videos with my students, it is one of the only ways I have to teach them the pronunciation. Continue working hard.

  2. Hi Julian,

Thank you for the kind words! I dropped by your blog, as well, and guess who the new follower of yours is! :-)

Yes, videos are a great way for pronunciation to be taught together with intonation and new vocabulary perhaps. They are of tremendous help to both visual and auditory learners, so they should belong to every teacher's toolbox!

Looking forward to more comment exchanges!

    Kind regards,
    Christina
