I have added the students of our school (who are on Facebook) to this closed group so as for them to get notifications of all interesting online resources I post on the wall of the group. There is also a private chat for the members of the group only. The ones I couldn't invite can send a request to be added to the group and the rest can invite their classmates. The students can also send an email to this address
markakistudents@groups.facebook.com
and it will be automatically posted on the wall of the group. Alternatively, they can use all the types of 'publish' buttons under the title of the group.
This will allow students to use their beloved Facebook and simultaneously keep track of recent Internet articles, homework assignments, team projects and a lot more information, now shared online rather than simply on paper or in class. More advanced students will additionally have the opportunity to let the rest of the members know of any latest post on their blogs and so will I, concerning the new posts on the Students' page.
I hope this group will prove as useful as it initially seems! Let us all try to share information and exchange views there to see how things turn out. Ready for a face-to-face education chat on... Facebook?
