MEETING PATRICIA IN PERSON

Patricia and I under the Arc of Triumph with the
famous Champs Elysees Avenue in the background.

This is what can be called a 'miracle' enabled through the right use of the Internet! Last week, during a short trip to Paris, I was fortunate enough to have the greatest of times with Patricia Johnston, the music producer who kindly sent her CDs with children's primary English songs as a present to our school last winter.

The fact that our online acquaintance was followed by a warm personal interaction presented us with the opportunity to arrange for even more intriguing Internet activities to take place in the computer room of the school between the students and Patricia herself. She also generously gave me a number of teaching ideas concerning her CDs and, most importantly, a set of alphabet flashcards which are very different from the common ones. More information will be posted as soon as all this is applied in our classrooms.

You can read everything about how it all started, including the video we prepared for her and the comments she exchanged with the students, here. Our Facebook friends can see some photographs of our joint Sushi adventures in Paris here.
