INTERACTIVE SITES FOR STUDENTS TO SHARE THEIR THOUGHTS

Since the death of one of the greatest pop stars on a global scale is in the spotlight at the moment, students can leave their own message about Michael Jackson and the feelings his music arouses in them on the following page by New York Times after clicking on the 'add your thoughts' blue button at the top of the page. Students will also have the chance to read people's responses from all over the globe.

A compilation of Michael Jackson's best songs follows. An all-inclusive list of resources about Jackson's life and career that are to be exploited in the classroom can be found on Jeffrey Hill's English blog as well as Larry Ferlazzo's blog.

Another site that enables students to express themselves is BBC Memoryshare. This is how Larry Ferlazzo describes it in his post:

BBC Memoryshare is a “place to share and explore memories.”

The site has a cool-looking timeline where you can access memories that people have written — on just about anything. In addition, and most importantly for this post, you can contribute a memory (after quickly registering at the BBC). Each memory is accessible through the timeline, through a keyword, or through an individual url address.

Simply click on the 'add your own memory' blue button that appears as soon as you enter the page, then create your membership by providing only a member name and a password and finally you can start typing a special memory of yours that you would like to share with others.
